4 out of 5 stars Great double stroller   June 30, 2010
Rusty (Boston, MA)
We got this for our newborn and toddler about 9 mos ago, after a very LONG search (and trying many exotic brands at "boutique" baby stores) and have been using it ever since.

The upsides: At 2l lbs, it is the lightest double stroller we found which will hold an infant car seat (only side-by side "umbrella" strollers (which are not suitable for infants because they don't recline) are lighter). You dont' need to use a Peg infant seat, it holds our Graco SnugRide infant seat (secured with a luggage strap wrapped from underneath the the fully-reclined seat and over the side notches on the car seat). It folds and unfolds pretty easily (you do need to use 2 hands to open and close, unlike the single Pegs which can be opened with one hand) and stands when folded (a plus for storing neatly when you go out to eat/someone's house, at home or day care, etc, as many other strollers can't stand up folded, you have to lie them down on their sides). It fits in the trunk of our hatchback (the Joovy Caboose and Baby Trend Sit-N-Stand were actually too long to fit in our trunk). While a bit bulky when loaded with 2 kids and diaper bags, it's still pretty easy to push and we've never had a problem navigating most urban sidewalks (with minor bumps, cracks, etc), hard-packed dirt (like you might find in a public park or playground), doorways, elevators in the subways, aisles in most stores, etc.

The downsides: Small snack trays and no cup holders for the kids, no cup holder or parent tray for the adult (don't even bother using the cheap cup holder they give you, it will break off after the first few times) so we got one of those hanging stroller bag/pouches that have small pockets big enough to hold wipes, snacks and 2 standard water or baby bottles (think it was ~$15-20?) and 2 hooks for the handlebar for hanging bags, etc. The storage bin, which is basically is the length and width of the seats, seems a little flimsy and is not too deep (but we still manage to shove a normal-sized diaper bag underneath). The hand brake can be a hard to engage, but since we don't use it too often, it's not a problem for us.

3 out of 5 stars Great stroller with some big issues   May 22, 2010
K. Spencer (Arlington, VA)
In a nutshell this is a GREAT stroller in every regard except that it's awful to steer and go over any form of bump. It's really light weight, has a food tray, and folds up very easily. But, I have decided to sell mine and get the city mini double b/c yesterday we hit a TINY bump in the sidewalk and the stroller came to a crashing halt and literally tipped over with both kids in it! The wheels are simply too small for the size of the stroller and unless you are walking on the street with no bumps, this thing is VERY difficult to manage and steer.

I like it for many reason, but that was the last straw. It shouldn't be that hard to push my two kids around. If they were smaller, maybe. But my 3 and 1 year old are simply too much weight (and they aren't big kids) to make this manageable.

5 out of 5 stars I love my Peg!   May 1, 2010

Looking for a double stroller was quite an endeavor! I wanted it to be lightweight and be able to take a carseat, with some storage space underneath. The Peg Perego and the Combi were the only two that met my qualifications. I've had my Peg now for about 4 months and couldn't be happier. I use a regular Graco carseat and can place it forward facing or rear facing. It doesn't "click in" like the special Peg Perego carseat would, but it is still very secure. The straps are a bit of a pain sometimes, but they do give you the freedom to do a 5 point harness hookup or a 3 point. I've gotten used to them now. You can easily take off the bars in the front (on one or both sides)if you don't like them. The basket underneath is a little flimsy, but I don't have any problem putting library books under there. This stroller is not made for "off-roading" per se. It's definitely light-weight. It gets stuck if there are large cracks in the sidewalk or big bumps. I never really use the brake, but it is a little difficult. It's supposed to get easier the more you use it. The sunshades are adequate. I always bring sunglasses for the girls anyway. Anyway, the pros outweigh the cons for me.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth the money!   April 8, 2010

I have had this stroller for 11 months. I wanted to love this stroller, but have found so many flaws. I really only some-what enjoyed this stroller for the first 2-3 months when I had a newborn and an 18 month old toddler. This stroller was great in that it allowed me to rest the infant carseat and the fit was great!

Otherwise, I can only unfold it 50% of the time without cussing (and yes, I am going to write or call the manufacturer until this is resolved!!!!!!). This is VERY aggravating when you drive 45 minutes to get to the zoo, then the darn stroller does not even work!

Second - this is flimsy. almost feels like an umbrella stroller.
Third - the wheels are so small and generic that it is tough to get up even the smallest curb.
Fourth - the large basket at the bottom is flimsy. Can only put light objects in the bottom.

So my end recommendation - If you do not need this to accomodate an infant then KEEP LOOKING! However, this stroller was handy for an infant car seat since I had great difficulties finding one to accomodate my ages requirements.

Overall summary is that I am not a happy customer and I will make efforts to contact the manufacturer.

3 out of 5 stars Very light, but impractical for city streets   March 26, 2010
Recycle_Mom (NY USA)
Purchased this stroller because it was the lightest side-by-side stroller, but it does not go over those city sidewalks bumps and cracks too well. You need to constantly put your foot on basket to lift it up over each uneven pavement. I wish it had bigger wheels and better traction. Also, the basket is not very deep but large in width and the front bar-child trays are hard to snap open.
